Frank Cappelletti’s body of work as a former football player, coach and athletic director at Christian Brothers Academy is significant. He helped the Brothers win three straight league championships in the 1950s. In 1952, he was selected as state player of the year before heading to Fordham on an athletic scholarship.
After serving in the military, Cappelletti completed his college career at Villanova, where he played a variety of positions on the football team. He returned to CBA in 1960 and became the head football coach. He guided the Brothers football team to three city championships. Cappelletti also coached several talented players including NFL players Walt Patulski and Marty Domres.
Frank passed away June 15, 2019. He was 85. Click HERE to read his obituary.

1951: First team All-City football, All-State football, First team All-City Baseball.
1952: First team All-City Baseball, First team All-City Football. First team All-City basketball
1952: New York State Football Player of the Year; Member of the CBA Track Team.
1953: Attended Fordham University on a football scholarship
1953-1955: Served in US Army in Italy
1956-1959: Linebacker, guard and fullback for Villanova University Football team
1959: Captain of Villanova football team
1960-1970’s Head football coach at CBA; winning three City Championships. Coached future NFL stars Walt Patulski and Marty Domres; CBA basketball coach; Won one city championship; Athletic Director at CBA
1991: Received The Purple and Gold Award, given by the CBA Alumni Association
